On March 25, 2023, Russian president Vladimir Putin announced plans to deploy nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus. This is a serious violation of the Treaty on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

Olga Karatch ist the head of the Belarusian human rights organization in exile
“Our House”, which has been active since 2005. She has been working as a human
right defender on supporting the most vulnerable groups, such as women,
children, LGBTI, refugees for years. Awarded the Human Rights Award of the City
of Weimar (Germany), International Bremen Peace Award, Radebeul Courage Prize
in Germany.
Mark Akkerman is a researcher at Stop Wapenhandel (Dutch campaign against arms
trade), focusing on international arms trade, the arms industry and
militarization.
